The principle of drinking vegan beer and avoiding non-vegan beer is to withhold financial support from companies which use animal products to make their own product. Animal products demand the killing and/or exploitation of animals which is both unnecessary and undesirable. I’ve used Barnivore, Vegetarian Network Victoria and my own research to put this page together.
Feral Brewing Co. – Western Austalia.
Guinness & Harp Lager – a damn shame but what can you do?
St. Peter’s - not commonly found in Australia but alluring as they have a range of organic products. Sadly, not vegan.
Monteiths – According to Barnivore, the brewery use isinglass (animal product) from time to time across their range of beers so you can never be sure if it’s vegan or not. Don’t risk it.
Coldstream Brewery – But cider’s OK
Adnam’s apparently brew great-tasting beers but, alas, only one of them (Spindrift) is vegan and I can tell you that it’s rubbish (IMHO).
Three Troupers got back to me and let me know that their beers aren’t vegan.
